Getting motivated to clean by: Samantha (Help-Organize-Life.com)
I have seen many of my clients feel the same way you do. It is very overwhelming once the clutter has gotten out of control. But don't worry. There is help and hope! I think that you should start small first. You are doing great by keeping up with the laundry and dishes so pat yourself on the back. Most people wouldn't even do that. I would find a room or spot that bothers me the most and start there. If you can just start by taking a trash bag and for 15 minutes seeing how much you can throw out. Just that little act in my experience with severe hoarders is they get motivated to keep going because they see some progress. Remember it didn't get that way overnight so it is going to take a while to get your home back in order. If you find that it is just too overwhelming to start I would seriously suggest hiring a professional organizer. Professional organizers are trained to come in with a non-judgemental eye and help you to get back on track. Depending on the organizer you might be able to use them for 1 to 2 hours and get a whole lot done in a short time that will keep you motivated to continue on after they are gone. I hope this has helped you.
