cost of organizing

by Joanne
(South of Boston, MA USA)

Hi! I have been chronically disorganized for as long as I can remember. I am 26 years old, and I am a single mother raising my 15 month old daughter on my own. Her father doesn't pay child support so I can't afford a place of our own yet. We live at home with my parents, and to be honest, my bedroom is a mess. I've got a ton of books, clothes, and various other items taking up ever last inch of space except for my bed. I also have fibromyalgia which makes it difficult for me to get my room cleaned and organized b/c I will get 1/4 to 1/2 the room picked up before my whole body starts becoming excruciatingly painful. Because of that, and because I have so much to do I don't know where to start, I procrastinate any attempt at organization. It is incredibly frustrating, depressing, and causes extreme anxiety. As a single mother I wok full-time to support my daughter, and half my salary pays daycare tuition. I don't have an incredibly large amount of $ to spend on an organizer. What are the typical fees associated with hiring someone to help me overcome this tremendous burden? What can a professional organizer do to help a single mum desperate for some order and peace in her life?
